ELIGIBILITY
Students of class 6 and above are eligible to participate in this programme.
SELECTION
The writing test is simple and does not take much time.
NO PREPARATION REQUIRED
You do not need any special preparation to take the test.
AFTER THE TEST
If you clear the writing test, we will invite you to an interview on Zoom. You will receive an email with the date and time of the interview and a link to the Zoom meeting.
THE FINAL LIST
If you clear the interview, you will make it into the list of students that we have finally selected for the mentoring programme.
THE MENTORING PROGRAMME
Candidates selected after the writing test and interviews will finally be invited into the mentoring programme.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
For the online test and Zoom interview, the participant must use a laptop or desktop with a working microphone, camera, speakers and a steady internet connection.
The candidates will also need to download and install the free Zoom application. Candidates cannot participate in either the tests or the mentoring sessions using a mobile device, phone or tablet.
ATTENDANCE
If you are selected and have registered for the mentoring programme, it is vitally important that you attend all the mentoring sessions. Absence from the sessions will not yield the desired results.
OUR EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR THE WRITING TEST
Essentially, we search for writers with good grammar and a deep and abiding interest in writing stories.
We look for three primary attributes in our writers:
- the urge to write a story;
- the ability to write it and;
- the patience to last the distance.
THE CRITERIA FOR THE INTERVIEW
The interview communicates the passion of the writer, her interest in reading and also helps us match the grammatical quality and essence of her writing to that of her speech.
